Discussion on future Lafayette Park development to be held August 20
Resident feedback for new residences at Shapero Hall site
A community meeting will be held on August 21 for residents in and around Lafayette Park to discuss the City’s community benefits ordinance regarding development in the area.
The meeting is hosted by the City of Detroit’s Planning and Development Department for more information on the Shapero Hall site. Per plans from developer Armin Irving, the old Shapero Hall will be torn down and replaced with a new residential high-rise.
Community input, particularly regarding how Detroiters can be part of the development and construction process, is needed. The meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Horatio Williams Foundation, 1010 Antietam St.
