WE ARE SPRINGWELLS
Bordered by Fort Street on the north, John Kronk Street on the south, Woodmere Street on the east and Waterman Street on the west, Springwells is home to nearly 17,000 residents. With popular eateries from the classic Vince’s Italian Restaurant to the newer kid on the block El Asador Steakhouse, the neighborhood offers diverse dining options that attract food lovers from near and far. The business district boasts plenty of shopping and amenities, while neighborhood parks, public art, faith-based institutions and schools cater to the area’s families. The name is a callback to Springwells Township, which was one of the five original survey townships of Wayne County created by Lewis Cass. By 1921, the original Springwells Township was annexed into Dearborn or Detroit.
