LGBT Pride flag to hang high for second year at Hart Plaza
Mayor, key community leaders to give remarks
For the second year in a row, the City of Detroit will raise the LGBT pride flag in Hart Plaza to celebrate pride in the City.
Last year’s ceremony was the first time the city government participated in pride festivities for the month of June. This year, Mayor Mike Duggan will offer remarks alongside Detroit Police Department LGBT Liaison Cpl. Dani Woods, LGBT Detroit Executive Director Curtis Lipscomb, Equality Michigan Executive Director Stephanie White, Equality Michigan Trans Advocate Jenyce Poindexter and Motor City Pride Executive Director Dave Wait.
The flag-raising will be at 11:15 a.m. on June 6. All are welcome to attend.
